Terms & Conditions of Use
Version 1.0 · Last updated 7 June 2026
These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Lawyr, a software-as-a-service legal practice management platform (the "Service") provided by Lawyr, a Proprietorship firm based in India ("Lawyr", "we", "us"). By creating an account, accepting these Terms during signup, or using the Service, you (the "Customer", "Firm", "you") agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. The Service & licence
Lawyr provides tools for managing legal matters, case diaries, documents, billing, notifications and related workflows. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service for your internal business purposes, subject to your subscription plan and these Terms.
2. Accounts, access & security responsibility
You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account and user logins. You must keep your credentials confidential, configure user roles and permissions appropriately, and promptly disable access for users who leave your firm. Safeguarding logins, passwords, devices and access to your account is your responsibility as the business. Lawyr is not liable for any loss, damage, unauthorised access or data exposure arising from compromised, shared, weak or mismanaged credentials, or from your failure to maintain reasonable security practices.
3. Customer data & professional responsibility
You retain ownership of all data you submit to the Service ("Customer Data"). You are solely responsible for the accuracy, legality and quality of Customer Data and for how you use the Service in your legal practice. The Service is a tool and does not provide legal advice; any case information, deadlines, eCourts data, statutes, AI-generated drafts or suggestions are provided for convenience only and must be independently verified by a qualified professional. You remain solely responsible for all professional, court-related and client obligations.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the Service, including: attempting to gain unauthorised access; reverse engineering; uploading unlawful or infringing content; interfering with the Service's operation or security; or using it to violate any applicable law. We may suspend access for breach of these Terms.
5. Subscriptions, trials & billing
New accounts begin on a free trial. After the trial, continued use requires an active paid subscription on the plan you select. Fees, billing intervals (monthly/annual) and any applicable discounts are as displayed at the time of purchase and are exclusive of taxes unless stated. Subscriptions are governed by the plan you choose and by our Cancellation & Refund Policy.
6. Availability & third-party services
We strive to keep the Service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. The Service integrates third-party providers (for example, eCourts data sources, email/SMS/WhatsApp messaging, cloud storage and AI providers). We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy or acts of such third parties.
7. Disclaimer of warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that the Service will meet your requirements or that results obtained will be accurate or reliable.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Lawyr and its proprietor shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, business, or for any claims by your clients or third parties, arising out of or relating to your use of (or inability to use) the Service — including any loss resulting from unauthorised account access or credential compromise. Our total aggregate liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount actually paid by you to us for the Service in the three (3) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
9. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Lawyr and its proprietor from any claims, damages, liabilities and expenses arising from your Customer Data, your use of the Service, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right.
10. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for non-payment or breach. On termination, your right to use the Service ceases; you may request export of your Customer Data within a reasonable period, after which it may be deleted.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified and may require renewed acceptance. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
12. Governing law & jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts at India shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any disputes, subject to applicable law.
