Version 1.0 · Last updated 7 June 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Lawyr, a Proprietorship firm (Lawyr), collects, uses, and protects information when you use Lawyr(the "Service"). By using the Service or accepting this policy at signup, you consent to the practices described here.
1. Who we are
The Service is operated by Lawyr (Proprietorship firm), India. For privacy-related queries, contact support@lawyr.dev.
2. Information we collect
- Account & signup data: firm name, your name, work email, mobile number, and password (stored only as a secure hash).
- Verification data: one-time codes sent to your email and mobile to verify ownership.
- Acceptance records: the version of the Terms/Privacy you accepted, with date, time, IP address and browser/user-agent — kept as proof of consent.
- Customer Data: matter, client, document, billing and related information you enter into the Service. You control this data.
- Usage & technical data: log data, device/browser information and cookies necessary to operate and secure the Service.
3. How we use information
- To provide, operate, secure and improve the Service.
- To verify your identity at signup and protect against fraud and abuse.
- To send transactional communications (verification, approval, billing reminders, alerts you configure).
- To maintain proof of acceptance of our legal terms and to comply with legal obligations.
4. Cookies
We use strictly necessary cookies, including a secure, http-only session cookie to keep you signed in. We do not sell your personal data.
5. Sub-processors & sharing
We share data only with service providers that help us run the Service — for example, cloud hosting and database providers, email/SMS/WhatsApp messaging providers, file storage, and AI providers (when you use AI features). These providers process data on our instructions. We may disclose information if required by law.
6. Data security & your responsibility
We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures, including tenant data isolation, encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), and hashed passwords. However, security is shared: you are responsible for safeguarding your login credentials, managing user access and permissions, and using strong passwords. We are not responsible for unauthorised access resulting from compromised or mismanaged credentials on your side.
7. Data retention
We retain Customer Data for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service. Acceptance and certain transaction records may be retained longer to meet legal and accounting requirements. On termination, Customer Data may be deleted after a reasonable export window.
8. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, and may export your Customer Data. Contact us at support@lawyr.dev.
